ROYAL AIR FORCE INTELLIGENCE
RAF Intelligence has a long and distinguished tradition and has grown over the years so that today it covers tactical, operational and strategic intelligence. It covers signals intelligence, human intelligence, cyber intelligence and imagery intelligence and those in RAF Intelligence work with colleges in the other military services, GCHQ, MI5 and MI6 as well as our US, Australian and NATO partners. RAF Intelligence staff can work at the Air and Space Intelligence Centre at RAF Wyton, Cambridgeshire.

They also provide the intelligence staff to support and exploit the intelligence gathered from the RAF airborne collection platforms, such as the 5 Squadron Sentinel aircraft. Imagery analysts on the aircraft exploit the intelligence in real time and pass it to ground forces as well as feed it into the wider intelligence picture.

The move towards more UAVs has provided the RAF Intelligence staff with new, state of the art, imagery collection assets that have day and night capabilities and long loiter times, passing the intelligence back to deployed or UK based exploitation centres for analysis and further exploitation.
